Friendship Day Quilting

9 AM to 1 PM,  Fourth Thursday of the Month
Except November (3rd Thursday) and December (no meeting). July and August also off.

A hearty group of ladies meet each month to stitch together quilts for Lutheran World Relief. Quilts are included in a major care package that is assembled each September and includes layettes, quilts, and health kits. Some of the ladies have also been gathering on various Sunday afternoons to quilt, since not everyone can make it during the day.

Friendship Day is a great chance for fellowship, too. Ladies bring lunch if they wish, and tasty treats are brought to share for dessert.

InGathering and LWR Trailer
The last Thursday in September is always our InGathering - quilts, layettes and health kits are assembled and boxed (we get help from the men for this), and the outbound packages are blessed at the worship service the following Sunday. Then, on the first weekend in October, we host a LWR trailer for packaging up all the boxes and kits from the surrounding community. Trailer hours are usually 9-12 Saturday, and 12-3 Sunday every year.

Items collected for the layettes are:

Baby items – birth to 24 months – new or “gently used”:
Shirts and/or “Onesies”
Sleepers and/or Gowns
Sweaters and/or Sweatshirts
Receiving Blankets and/or Hooded Towels
Cloth Diapers and Diaper Pins
